Tower Group are currently seeking candidates for their open Product Engineer (Night shift) position in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal through Go Job Search. Are you an experienced candidate looking to take up a Product Engineer (Night shift) role such as with an industry leading company like Tower Group?
Key Performance Areas:Design and develop new products in line with customer and licensor specificationsHave polymer processing and injection moulding expertise for a range of productsProject planning, project management, and accurate reporting on project activitiesDevelop Bill of materials and formulate product costing quotations when requiredParticipation in cross-functional teams/suppliers to ensure new product/tooling introductionLiaise with licensors/customers to obtain technical information and ensure its relevant utilization in product and process design and developmentEffectively close out quality system documents (ISIR reports, Audit Actions, CAR’s, G8D’s, etc)Commission tooling and develop process set up recipes for moulded productsCompile and maintain process documentation, ie Control Plans, FMEA’s, Work Instructions, etcAssess current products in view of design improvements and cost reductionProvide production support for any operational requirementsMentor production associates and manage any assigned traineesSupport processes and product innovations and the implementation thereafterJig & Fixtures/Tooling conceptualization, development & industrializationTroubleshooting expertise to resolve Injection Moulding equipment, systems and process problemsSupport to team meetings on root cause and problem solvingSupport OEE activity in allocated focus area to reduce downtime and scrapInitiate to identify possible adjustments and modifications to the lines, improving efficienciesSelf-develop electronic competence and leadership skills as part of life-long learningGenerate manufacturing improvement ideas aimed at improving efficienciesSupport the setters and team leaders when experiencing processing or throughput problemsUtilize your learned skills to develop and repair robot grippers, fault find on robots, servo drives, production equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics.Monitoring of processes, including cycle times, change overs, start- ups and shut-downsMinimum Qualification/Experience: BSc / B-Tech / Higher National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering3 years Vehicle Automotive related experience.Project management experience.Design and drawing experiencePreferably product development experience with automotive products5 years Injection moulding process set up experience/tool qualifying experiencePersonal Skills:Good communications skills (verbal and in writing)Good interpersonal skillsProblem solving skillsSelf-motivated & commitmentAnalytical & energeticTeam orientatedResults focusedInnovativeAble to work under extreme pressureSupport production lines (sometimes after hours)
