The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the accounting system of the organisation is functional, complete, accurate and to provide support to the Financial Manager. Duties include:Cashbook (In absence of the bookkeeper)Balance Sheet – reconciling accounts monthlyStaff ManagementStock control – Assist with stock control, conduct stock counts, maintain accurate stock sheets and ensure stock items are re-orderedAssist with year end audit processFinalise monthly trial balance for preparation of Management Accounts by the Financial ManagerDebtors – Ensure balances are complete and accurate. Provide required reports on debtors to management on a weekly basisPrepare all key reportsConduct audit testing of potential risk areasIdentify areas of financial and administrative strengths and weakness and develop best practicesRequirements:B.Comm in Financial Accounting / NQF Level 6 or equivalentMembership to an accounting body would be a plusMinimum of 5 years experience as an accountant / assistant accountant or similar role in a medium to large organisationSage Evolution an added advantage
