We are looking for a networking specialist who is interested in working on one of the biggest Cisco networks in the Academic sector in Southern Africa. Our client is seeking to appoint a Senior Technical Specialist to join its Core Infrastructure team in the Enterprise Infrastructure Services division. You will provide highly specialized technical support and be responsible for designing, managing, and developing the business-critical university enterprise network and other ICT systems. You should also be able to work independently and display initiative in a fast-paced environment where your accomplishments lead directly to the success of your team.Appointment to this position requires:A relevant qualification at NQF level 7 (Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering)• A minimum of 10 years proven experience in networking, routing, and TCP/IP protocols of which 5 years should be on CISCORequired non-technical skills include:• Ability to prioritize and manage work under pressure.• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.• A strong customer service ethic.• Ability to work as part of a team.• Analysis and problem-solving ability.• Experience in implementing and consulting on infrastructure projects.• Proven network capacity planning and continuous improvement• Demonstrated ability to mentor and train colleaguesRequired Technical skills and competencies• A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies• Proven expertise in Linux Operating Systems• Proven expertise in enterprise network security enforcement i.e., firewalls and NAC• Proven expertise in Cisco Unified Wireless Networks and Mobility• Solid knowledge of network infrastructure services e.g., DNS, DHCP and RADIUS• In-depth experience in enterprise network monitoring and management systems• Proven large scale network project management skillsExperience in two or more of the following will be required:Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco SD- LAN and SD-WAN Solutions• Proven experience in automating Cisco Enterprise Solutions• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Enterprise Networks• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks
