Job DescriptionThe actuarial department requires the service of a self-motivated individual, a go-getter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure. The successful candidate will focus on technical marketing and all actuarial duties in the role.Role Responsibilities Research competitors and their products in the Retail risk (Life Insurance) space.Providing tactical responses to new competitor launches and competitor activity simply and practically that shows opportunities for intermediaries.Input into product development in terms of the design of new products and enhancements.Input into product marketing in terms of marketing and training material.Dealing directly with executives and distribution channels in terms of competitor analysis, special product functionality, presentations, workshops and general product queries.Travel from time to time to support the marketing of the various risk product solutions, e.g. on intermediary roadshows.Building Models & Tools to assist distribution in the advice and selling process Behavioural Competencies Good communication skills with an ability to present to audiences of different sizesStrong written, presentation and analytical skills are essentialTechnical proficiency and an eagerness to expand skills and develop knowledgeAn ability to thrive in a busy environment with multiple deliverablesThe ability to interact in a team environmentHigh attention to detailEnthusiastic about dealing with challengesAble to handle high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment Education and Experience Good progress with Actuarial ExamsA solid understanding of the South African Retail Life Insurance industry is required.This includes knowledge about products, processes & other trends with a focus on the intermediated individual Life marketCandidates with experience in a similar role will be given preference
