ENVIRONMENT: THE expertise of a strategic & solutions-driven Senior Product Manager is sought to expand the product offering particularly in the area of eCommerce of our client, nestled in the picturesque wine valley of Franschhoek. Your role will entail leading the Product Development team and all outsourced products in support of the food & homeware strategy, identify new suppliers while preparing and reviewing proposals, contracts, and supplier agreements for legal correctness, pricing, and acceptability of items in terms of specifications. You must possess a suitable Commercial Degree/Diploma with 10-15 years’ Retail Buying and Product Development experience – specifically in food production and have proven experience in food procurement and demonstrable results in complex buying within a Manufacturing environment.DUTIES:Head the Product Development team.Lead new product development for all outsourced products in support of the food and homeware strategy.Perform end-to-end activities relevant to product procurement.Identify suitable new suppliers, whilst building and maintaining strong supplier relationships with both new and existing suppliers.Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and supplier agreements for legal correctness, pricing, and acceptability of items in terms of specifications.Ensure that quality of all sourced products is in line with our product quality standards.REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications –Relevant Commercial Degree or Diploma.Experience/Skills –Minimum 10–15 years’ Retail Buying and Product Development experience – specifically in food production.Previous experience in a Procurement Management role. Demonstrable results in complex buying within a Manufacturing environment is essential.Knowledge of Logistics/Warehousing, as well as delivery systems and procedures.Good planning and Project Management skills.Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.ATTRIBUTES:Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong negotiation skills and must be able to work under pressure.
