Overview Solar Project Design EngineerAn industry-leading company situated in Gauteng is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Solar Project Design Engineer to join their team.The Solar Design Engineer will be expected to provide support to the project development team for a range of functions. The successful candidate will work in an environment where learning and knowledge transfer are prioritised. She/he will work in a team that are industry-leaders in advanced Solar systems for Industrial and Commercial properties.Key requirements: Design of Solar PV systemsAll mechanical and electrical design and drawings for rooftop, ground-mount and storage systemsCompiling of BOQ (Bill of quantity)Apply and drive Regulatory approvalsQuality control of the system designedProfessional engagement with suppliers and subcontractors Project management of solar PV plant, from site establishment to internal handoverManagement of timeline, budget and qualityManagement of subcontractorContract managementHealth and safetyProgress reports Client managementBuilding long-term client relationshipsManaging client expectationsSite visits as support service for the project development teamSuch other duties as the Company may reasonably require from time to time Education & Requirements: Minimum BEng Electrical Engineering degree/ BSc Electrical Engineering degree +2 years relevant work experience in the C&I PV industryFully proficient in English (verbal and written communication)Competent in the following software:Microsoft Office SuiteSketchupLayoutAutoCADPVSystDriver’s license and own car required
