GENERAL RESPONSIBILITYResponsible for all new developments projects and technical back-up.Responsible for all design and simulation work in the company.Responsible to oversee manufacturing of new and replacement diesResponsible to oversee scheduling of die preparation and die maintenance workResponsible for overall functioning of maintenanceDUTIES% OF TIMEOperational – 50%Administrative – 30%Supervisory responsibilities – 20%CLIMATEThis person works in a fast paced environment and must be able to make quick decisions in order to maximize production while maintaining focus on safety and quality to meet customer expectations. The nature of the product mix for all operations may cause changing priorities frequently.DUTIES & STANDARDSOperationalTo oversee new wheel development projects and ensure all customer requirements are met This includes the manufacturing of new diesSupplying toolroom with accurate information, which includes drawings and CNC programsEnsuring that the final wheel conforms to customer styling and castability requirementsSupporting the foundry and machine shop development with relevant technical knowledge.Creating and maintaining quality documents such as:Design review documentation and minutes of meetingsDesign FMEA documentation and minutes of meetingsOver see manufacturing of new and replacement diesOver see scheduling of die preparation and die maintenance workOversee foundry hydraulic engineering and maintenanceOversee furnace lining maintenanceOversee foundry TPM programOversee full functioning of maintenance requirementsAdministrativeCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities includes interviewing, hiring and training of employeesPerformance appraisalsRewarding and disciplining of employeesAddressing complaints and resolving problemsCapex project controllingSupervisory responsibilitiesEnsuring that all employees perform their duties as requiredJOB SPECIFICATIONSSkillsAbility to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.Must have passed mathematics necessary to obtain degreeAbility to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
