ENVIRONMENT: JOIN an Energy Company based in Cape Town as a Senior Payments Programme Manager (SAP) to drive the delivery of payments solution, loyalty and fleet card project initiatives across the group. The role is very broad and requires a person with strong payments, loyalty and digital experience, obtained in a commercial/banking environment. You will travel into Africa from time to time in line with Project delivery requirements. It should be noted that there may be long hours required when managing multiple concurrent implementations across the different project types and phases. Please note that this is a 12-24 month contract with the view to extend.DUTIES:Understand the customer needs for payments and loyalty, with the two being integrated.Understanding and experience of card or fleet payment systems, preferably in the retail petroleum industry or in a bank.Understanding and experience of ERP systems and interface development i.e. SAP.Experience in working with organisations across multiple geographies and languages and understanding the intricacies of project delivery across multiple cultures.Developing and delivering a specific programme of work on the payment solution project, loyalty solution project and fleet card solution project; on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria within corporate guidelines including the investment competence framework.Working with and managing the Programme Lead/s to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change. This should encompass where appropriate communications with external suppliers (vendors and partners).Developing and managing the programme team (including external suppliers), monitoring adequate resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective workforce at all times.Achieving the programme outturn and margins as agreed with the programme lead/s.Developing an appropriate strategy for the development and delivery of the programme work scope.Identifying priority opportunities within the programme and supervising promotion and sharing of best practices between projects of the programme.Monitoring planning so that it considers cross-programme requirements and supports the effective delivery of contracted obligations.Identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.Leading and inspiring the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.Managing and complying with company procedures to provide appropriate resources (HR), communication strategies (Marketing and Compliance teams), training (Service Excellence and HR teams), and competency and evaluate the fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.Reporting on the progress and/or impact of all cross-functional projects.Liaising with the teams to deliver clear and consistent reporting on programme status and progress to all interested stakeholders.Managing risk management and project governance with the Risk and Compliance officers.Developing systems/methodology and maintaining records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; preparing a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials as required.Ensuring the creation of relevant operating plans detailing by-product, the activities/projects and launches, in collaboration with the relevant heads of department (loyalty, marketing, IT, etc.).Working with external suppliers, agencies, or other divisions as a representative by fostering collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the programmes.REQUIREMENTS: Programme Leadership and Governance.Extensive Payment and Loyalty solutions delivery experience.Attention to detail and quality.Open to travel into Africa.Ability to Manage at the C Suite as well as at end consumer level.Complex Programme Management experience in large commercial organisations.Payment System integration into ERP Systems.SAP ERP Integration knowledge.Loyalty system solution knowledge and understanding.Digital payment solutions knowledge advantageous.Vendor Management experience.ATTRIBUTES:Strong Program and Project Management Skills.Commercial Acumen.Ability to identify practical solutions to complex problems.Ability to work in Multi-Cultural Teams across multiple time zones.Understand the customer needs for payments and loyalty, with the two being integrated.Understanding and experience of card or fleet payment systems, preferably in the retail petroleum industry.Understanding and experience of ERP systems and interface development.
