JOB SUMMARY: A large and stable engineering company needs a Supervisor to manage the shift and all direct staff ensuring the smooth running of the production process. JOB DESCRIPTION: Minimum requirements for the role: Matric / N4 Supervisory Management.2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role.Able to work extended hours on occasions when required such as Stock-Take.Must be able to work shifts, if required, and attend meetings.Able to communicate and motivate coherently – both verbally and via written media using Microsoft Office.Interpret and apply solutions from KPI’s.Able to read drawings and can work with basic measuring equipment such as a Vernier, measuring tapes etc.Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the company’s organisational structure.Understand of the principles of manufacturing.Strong leadership planning and organisational skills essential.Able to commute reliably.E-mail CVs to The successful candidate will be responsible for: Taking full responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff.Ensuring that all employees have the proper training in their given field and make certain that they approach their work in compliance with the programs, procedures and policies that have been instilled.Providing or otherwise assigning training as required to assure processes and standards are met.Ensuring that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift.Managing, developing, motivating and maintaining discipline with direct reporting staff.Ensuring good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.Ensuring that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the company in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.Keeping track of group attendance daily; identifies non-conformance and makes corrections as necessary.Providing recommendation and input into the employee evaluation and disciplinary processes.Management of production and quality targets and ensuring the smooth running of the production processes.Ensuring adherence to Company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) through the ISO system.Minimizing waste and cost and ensuring conformance to safety and quality.Taking full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures.Monitoring, measuring and reporting on production related process performance, general issues.Working closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communications tools.Taking an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.Maintaining housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace using 5S and ISO.E-mail CVs to Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
