JOB SUMMARY: NEW VACANCY ALERT!!An opportunity has arisen for a Foundry Optimisation Engineer with our client within the automotive industry, based in Gqeberha. JOB DESCRIPTION: Duties: Foundry related Scrap, Rework and First Time Pass rate measured against set targets in each Department.Resources are utilised effectively and efficiently to achieve a reduction in Energy consumption.Manage projects within the Foundry and Service Departments.Conduct laboratory investigations with respect to material failures or defect analysis due to process faults.Develop and sustain a mould library, including exploded model, general assembly, individual cores, and full cooling assembly including manufacturing drawings. Requirements: Tertiary education in the field of Mechanical and/or Metallurgical EngineeringDesign experience and proficiency using project and design packages; MS projects, AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk InventorTool-making or previous design exposure or experience with regards to 3D conceptualization and surface modeling using Magma software will be an advantageKnowledge of Lean or Six Sigma concepts and techniquesAt least 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Production / Manufacturing environmentAt least 3 years’ experience in the Engineering sector after qualification with experience in machine manufacture installation and project managementExperience in Die Casting techniques, aluminum solidification, mould design and manufacturing of cast partsTool-making exposure, CNC knowledge including programming, design engineering or 2D/3D drawing
