JOB SUMMARY: The IT Manager will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the company’scomputer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. The ITmanager will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. JOB DESCRIPTION: Minimum Qualifications and Experience:- Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computerhardware/software systems- Expertise in data centre management and data governance- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation- Ability to manage staff- Any experience with Syspro will be advantageous- BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field/ Diploma/ in IT- Masters in IT/MS Certificates will be an advantageSoft Skills:- High level of attention to detail.- Logical thinker.- Team player.- Ability to take instruction.- Ability to handle pressure.- Proficient in meeting deadlines.- Must be organised and methodical.Main Duties/Key Results Areas:- Managing information technology and computer systems- Controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations- Manage information technology and computer systems- Plan, organise, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectationsand appraising their performance- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems- Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policy- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time- Audit systems and assess their outcomes- Preserve assets, information security and control structures- Running regular checks on network and data security- Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems- Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation- Designing training programs and workshops for staff- Conducting regular system audits- Running and sharing regular operation system reports with senior staff- Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates,upgrades, migrations and outages- Managing and reporting on allocation of IT budget- Providing direction for IT team members- Identifying opportunities for team training and skills advancement- Analyse departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, andaccuracy to inform business decisions- Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their fullrange of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions- Analyse processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement- Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensurethat they are offering the best-possible service and value for business needs- Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technicalsupport when needed- Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups- All and any other related tasks & duties as expected from the employer from time to time.
