Overview Head of Data ScienceA leading Actuarial Consulting company is looking for a methodical Head of Data Science in Johannesburg.The incumbent will lead the Data Science team and strategy for the Group. This includes the delivery of actuarial data science and actuarial automation services to our clients, you will oversee the design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of solutions for their clients. The Head of Data Science will also lead a team of data scientists and be responsible for their training and development. You will be the subject matter expert on the application of data science and programming to actuarial problems and workflows.WHAT YOU NEED: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a similarly quantitative disciplineAt least 8 10 years experience, 5+ in data scienceStatistics, maths, economics, or other related fieldsPreferably an actuary or knows actuarial principlesGood communication skillsStrong work ethic and highly motivatedAbility to work to a deadline and give regular feedback on progressAttention to detail
