An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to be developed within the Maintenance Department, based in Prospecton, Durban. Applicants with suitable skills and experience are encouraged to apply.PURPOSE OF THE JOB:- To support Maintenance targets through leadership, technical competence, and a strong drive for results- Implementation of problem countermeasures for various automated electrical and mechanical machinery.- Management and improvement of the computerized maintenance management system.- Supervision of all maintenance activities, technical issues, and daily planned work.- Monitoring, tracking, measuring and communicating key performance metrics for the maintenance department, including preventative maintenance and legal compliance checks.- Management and implementation of projects, kaizens, and safety improvements- Supplier and Contractor management- To ensure a safe working environment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:• Grade 12• Btech/BEng (Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering).• Minimum two years relevant supervisory experience in a Technical role within the Engineering or Automotive industries.DELIVERABLES/KPAs• Daily management of the maintenance team including solution support for Electrical, Mechanical, and Die equipment problems.• Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement proactive countermeasures.• Managing various projects, improvements, kaizens, and upgrades.• Supervision of contractor work.• Management of the maintenance workshop including machinery checks and safety compliance.• Ability to drive maintenance best practice.• Provide input with budgets and machinery replacement cycles.• Creating progress/feedback, and performance reports.• Create a strong focus on new maintenance trends and digitalization.COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS• Maintenance exposure in a complex production/manufacturing environment• 2 years supervisory work• Advanced computer literacy, specifically in MS Office (excel, word, outlook).• Documentation and data entry Skills.• Self-starter and drive for performance• Ability to supervise a multi skilled team.• Verbal Communication and leadership.• Reporting Skills.
