They employ over employees in their 6 facilities across 5 continents.Position : Maintenance HODSector : Automotive – Components ManufacturingReports to : Managing DirectorSubordinates : 03 X MillwrightsPurpose of the position The purpose of this position is to lead the maintenance team in handling maintenance and technical requirements of the business needs. Provide both proactive and reactive maintenance on all equipment. Responsible for planned scheduling, overseeing adherence to the plan, timeous completion of work carried out, reduce downtime. Manage team on technical best practices. The successful candidate will also ensure that all machines are working efficiently and are available to operations. Requirements Trade Test Qualification – preferably in Electrical EngineeringMinimum 5 Years’ management experience in manufacturing environmentPreferably, a person who has worked in an Automotive Production EnvironmentReasonable experience / exposure in Auto-CAD use, Pneumatics and Hydraulics technology (PLC)Strong working knowledge of Lean-PrinciplesGood organisational and leadership skills Responsibilities Overall plant and machine optimizationDevelop and maintain technical standardsPlant improvements: Costs and OperationsIndustrialisation of new machinery and equipmentApplication of lean methodologiesOperational improvement based upon feasibility studies, capacity planning, ergonomics and best practicesSupporting relevant departments to achieve company goalsAssisting production with trouble shooting and problem solving related to (Mechanical, quality and process etc.)Co-ordinate and track maintenance changesManage maintenance to coordinate preventive and emergency maintenance.Ensure safe working procedures are developed and followed.Ensure compliance with Management Systems requirements (IATF , ISO etc.)Measuring and reporting on objectives and targetsElectrical and mechanical knowledge. Processing equipment knowledge. Able to maintain the machines and equipment. Able to troubleshoot and take appropriate action.Ensure availability of spares, minimize redundant of stock spares.Initiating of and participation in corrective, preventive and improvement projectsSigning-Off of new equipment Package and benefits: Basic Salary: We offer R 50 – R 60 Incentives: Performance bonus, depending on the company’s annual performanceBonus: We offer a 13th chequeBenefits: Provident fund (8%) and medical aid / gap cover (75%)Allowances: Cell phone allowance The candidate MUST be in good standing with all arms of law enforcement agencies of the country.
