Job Description A leading international consultant is looking for Social Scientist to join their team in Johannesburg.This position offers the opportunity to work with industry leaders in an exceptional environment. It also offers the opportunity to be exposed to a number of different roles and responsibilities.The key responsibility of this role will be to compile social impact assessments, contribute to resettlement action plans and other related social services.Minimum Requirements•Degree in Environmental or Social Sciences.•6 – 8 years’ experience in Social Impact Assessments, Resettlement Action Plans, etc, within a consulting environment.Your key responsibilities will include:•Compilation of Social Impact Assessments.•Compiling of Resettlement Action Plans.•Conducting socio-economic analyses and public participation processes.•Undertaking community engagement and liaison activities.•Conduct project field work, including social consultations.•Contributing socio-economic baseline details to the EIA process.•Compilation of Social and Labour Plans and Local Economic Development Plans.•Liaise with government at various levels.•Demographic profiling.•Conducting research.•Undertake desktop data collection via various sources.•Compile and review reports for submission to client and/or legal authorities.•Project, client and public management.•Develop and maintain databases.•Critically analyse and assess data.•Assist in compiling proposals and tender documentation.•Complete general administrative tasks
