Job Description A leading international consulting firm is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant with extensive experience on mining projects to join their team in Johannesburg. This role will be at Associate Level. The Associate Environmental Consultant will be responsible for the management and implementation of medium projects to large projects Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects in Africa. In fulfilling this responsibility, the Environmental Consultant will be responsible for liaising with clients, writing proposals, and undertaking ESIAs/ EIAs in accordance with the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Performance Standards or local legislation as appropriateMinimum Requirements:•BSc Honours or Masters degree in Environmental Science•10+ years’ in an environmental consultancy•Must be able to proactively manage EIA projects, take responsibility of resource allocation, liaise with clients, specialists and authorities, manage quality assurance/client feedback and ensure he/she meets budgetary, quality, safety and timeframe targets•Must have a sound knowledge of environmental legislation and the EIA process•Must be able to develop and sustain client and stakeholder relationships•Must be able to manage large complex EIA projects•Must have worked on mining projects within South Africa or Africa
