One of our leading clients in the legal sector is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their fast paced dynamic team at their Cape Town OfficeS. To start in August 2021PERMANENT POSITIONKey Performance Areas Preparation and submission of all corporate income tax returns for the companyPreparation of supporting schedules for corporate tax submissionsTax risk assessment and reviews (VAT and income tax compliance)Assist auditors with tax related queriesResearching and monitoring the relevant tax legislation for all company’s officesCalculation of normal tax and deferred taxInteracting with the accounts team in respect of information required for VAT/ tax returnsWithholding tax administrationTax clearance certificates for tendersProvision of general tax / VAT related support to the support services teamLiaison with tax authorities in various countriesImplementation of the firm’s transfer pricing policy and ongoing complianceAssisting with specific tax projectsOther ad hoc wider tasks as and when required. Knowledge and Skills: Extensive experience / knowledge of accounting in foreign currencyRelevant experience in tax compliance with sound knowledge of the tax laws and principlesFinancial operational experiencePrior experience in dealing with revenue authorities on the African continentProficiency in the relevant computer software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook , Excel and an accounting packageClient focus is essential (this is a services environment)Tact, diplomacy and assertiveness are important requirementsProven team player, professional, flexible and friendlyPossess well developed interpersonal and communications skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyMust be able to work under minimum supervisionPro-active in identifying potential problems and creating solutions. Tertiary Qualifications: Minimum B Com Accounting degree with completed articles, preferably a CA (SA) and/or post graduate tax qualification.
