Overview Hire Resolve has partnered with an established mining firm to find a Section Engineer to join their team in the Northern Cape.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety Compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policiesProduce a risk register for the engineering function with risk ratings Maintenance Management Initiate and monitor actions to comply with the company maintenance management policyPrepare an annual maintenance budget and comply with itLife cycle costing (LCC) should be put in place and monitored on a real time basis to ensureaccurate forecasting of component replacementEnsure that the engineering workshop is equipped with tools and equipment to enablesubordinates to work safely and maintain good engineering standardsProduce root cause failure analysis (RCFA’s) for repetitive breakdowns and prematurefailures Labour Management Manage roles and responsibilities of subordinatesDefine labour structure and ensure vacancies are filled within reasonable timePro-active management of conflict and disciplinary and grievance actions and monitor trendsPut in place a system to initiate and monitor on site suppliers and/or contractors Minimum Requirements of the Section Engineer Engineering Degree, Diploma or similar Tertiary qualificationGCC Mines and Works Compliance ticket is compulsoryAt least 15 years’ relevant experience in a supervisory role in an open cast miningenvironment Knowledge /Competencies /Abilities Valid drivers’ licenceExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishPC proficient including Microsoft OfficeAbility to work well under pressure with strict deadlinesWell organised and system orientatedAble to understand problem solving techniques and the application thereofProven leadership ability
