Overview Category SpecialistAn industry-leading mining company situated in the Northern Cape is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Category Specialist to join their team.The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:Procurement: Setting and implementation of category strategyDevelop effective solutions and methodologiesProvide category and process expertise to create and execute sourcing strategiesLead supplier management for defined categoriesResolve any integration issues and gapsConduct strategic review of Procurement, local sourcing operations and opportunitiesReview all stages of the procurement processSupport Supplier Management processDeliver value and cost-benefit targetProcure-to-Pay Processes Monitoring and Reporting: Develop Procurement Category StrategiesCompile and report on Percentage Spending on approved category plans and contractsTotal cost of ownership and life-cycle cost savings deliveredSustainability benefits delivered effectivelyPercentage of Orders deliveredSpend with diverse suppliers’ informationOn-time contract review processingSupplier Performance Cycle Times Key requirements: National Senior CertificateDriver’s LicenseRelevant Qualification in Logistics / Supply Chain ManagementBetween 8 to 10 years of applicable experience in the mining sectorExcellent knowledge of Mining industry practices Knowledge / Competencies /Abilities: Fully bilingual and excellent verbal and written communication skillsPC proficiency including Microsoft Office, especially ExcelThe ability to work under pressure with strict deadlinesUnderstanding Company strategiesUnderstanding Business NeedsStrong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skillsIndustry and Market KnowledgeContinuous improvement across the supply chainKnowledge of relevant mining laws, regulations, and ISO req.
