Desktop Support Technician required for a 3 to 4 month contract for a client in their IT Department.2 years + experience required as well as experience with working with internal and external clients with regards to their IT queries.Qualifications and Certificates: MatricInformation Technology DiplomaCertified in Computer EngineeringMCSE: Core Infrastructure / MCSE: Microsoft Windows operating systemsRelevant certificate related to desktop systems, networking, and Microsoft’s Back Office server products System Knowledge MS Office 365, including TeamsActive DirectoryESETMimecastEvent Log AnalyzerFortiGate Fabric – at least Wi-Fi Access PointsEvent Log AnalyzerVMware, Virtualization Responsibilities Install, modify, clean and repair monitors, keyboards, mice, central processing units (CPU’s), printers and other peripherals.Troubleshoot problems and provide technical support for software and hardware.Manage upgrades in software and hardware.Field telephone calls and e-mail messages from internal and external customers who are seeking guidance on technical problems.Help computer users with how to use new hardware and software.Oversee the daily performance of the company’s computer systems and evaluate software programs regarding their usefulness.Test the latest, coolest new software and hardware, and provide feedback to the manufacturers
