JOB SUMMARY: An established company in the Defense industry is seeking the services of a Senior Avionics Design Engineer. If this excites you, apply today. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and verification of the avionics system, from need to qualification.Responsibilities: Analysis of requirements and system functions.Specification writing.Translation of functional elements into practical hardware and software solutions.Simulation of system solutions and performance prediction.Prototype acquisition, integration, and testing of equipment.Plan, resource and manage the systems engineering tasks to achieve the stated objectives, including design reviews at applicable system level.Report on progress and risks per system or development project.Pro-active identification and mitigation of risks.Adherence regarding aviation regulatory compliance matters and statutory requirements.Support procurement activities with technical requirements, including sourcing i.a.w requirements.Support costing of avionics and electrical system solutions.Support process planning sheet preparation for avionics and electrical system integration.Manage avionics and electrical database.Support assembly line activities and queries on avionics and electrical systems.Support loom design and wire printing.Manage interface definition and wiring diagrams, including configuration changes.Support the flight test program and oversee mobile telemetry vehicle operations. Qualification and Experience: Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics).Post qualification in Electronic/Electrical or Systems Engineering and/or Project Management would be an advantage.Experience in military systems engineering processes would be an advantage.Experience in avionics and associated communication protocols (e.g. ARINC , RS).Experience in the management of engineering teams would be an advantage.
