Purpose of the job: To lead preventative management initiatives, ensuring machine uptime and quality metrics are met; diagnosing root cause of failures and closing the maintenance cycle by implementing or updating preventative maintenance strategy.To maintain a highly automated plant at set efficiency targets, delivering the required products, at the stipulated quality standards at the right time.To conduct preventative and reactive maintenance in the plant as required. Key Performance Areas: Machine availability (Machine Efficiency)Preventative maintenance schedule adherenceRoot cause analysis and maintenance cycle improvementsCoaching operational staff to ensure autonomous maintenance carried out correctlyHousekeeping and Health, Safety, Quality, HygieneAutonomous Maintenance Measurement Education, Experience and competencies required: Qualified Artisan (Electrical and Mechanical) plus minimum N4 qualificationTrade Test, Diploma (NQF 6+)Must be in possession of a Code 08 (B) driver’s licenceMinimum 5 years’ experience in FMCG environmentCompetence on PLCs (S7)Recognised Trade TestKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, speed drives, fillers and labellersPET Plant maintenance experience (good understanding of preforms, blow moulding, electronic fillers, high speed wrap around labels, packer and palletisers) Equipment knowledge on PET injectors, and Krones packaging equipment advantageousProcess knowledge in syrup make-up and service equipment advantageousPackaging experience in CSD as well as Conveyors, labellers, shrink wrappers, palletisers, syrup rooms, blenders, blow moulders
