Overview Buyer (Packaging)An industry-leading plastics company situated in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Buyer (Packaging) to join their team.The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for: The Buyer will manage your portfolio through effective strategy input and excellent execution, which will drive the total cost approach in addressing costs.You will factor in leveraging, spend consolidation or new sources where appropriate. Your stock management will also be vital in achieving an effective portfolio, which you will manage through your effective processes.Non-conformance resolution on any quality or supplier concerns will also feature on your agenda.Cross-functional collaboration is vital to this role and your ability to communicate across many varying roles will be required to be successful in this role. Key requirements: Attention to detailBe able to perform under pressureHave a positive attitudeResourcefulnessThe Buyer should have good communication skills and must be proficient in EnglishAbility to follow and implement required processesInterpersonal and cross-functional abilityMust be Computer LiterateAbility to develop and maintain excel spreadsheetsAbility to use Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint for effective communications Qualifications: Diploma / Degree – in Procurement / Packaging Experience: At least 3 years experience in procurement – including packagingMust be computer literate in excel, word, emailPreferably have sound knowledge of JDE or equivalent program
