Overview Assistant Resident EngineerAn industry-leading company situated in KwaZulu-Natal is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join their team.Key Responsibilities: Assist the RE with all duties during the contraction supervision and defects liability periodsTogether with the RE ensure that the contractor is fully appraised of technical, social, environmental, health and safety responsibilities and assist with monitoring the sameInspect all works in progress to ensure the quality of the works and compliance with the contract documentsRecord, report and propose actions to redress poor workmanship and defectsReview and verify qualifications of the proposed key personnel of the contractor and make the necessary recommendationsVerify that the Contractors use the testing equipment is in accordance with the approved standards and international best practiceEvaluate work in progress and propose changes in the works based on the field conditionsPrepare discipline specific daily site dairyVerify that the Contractor prepares and submits certified work as executed with records and plans of the completed worksReview the quality of all material, plant and equipment supplied by the ContractorReview Contractor’s Claims and issues against construction records and daily site diary recordsAssist the RE with the production of monthly reports, progress payments, extension of time and claim reportsManage the duties staff within appropriate the Discipline specific management teamInitiate action to prevent product/process non-conformance, including issue NCOs and/or CARs to Contractors if required Requirements: Minimum of 10-15 years of related experiencePrEng/PrTechBEng | BSc | BTech Qualification5+ Years’ Experience as a Resident Engineer
