Job Number Skills Ms Office,SAP PM Industry Steel City Ekurhuleni (East Rand) Job Description Purpose: To ensure that employees in the Engineering Department understand and carry out given instructions and perform their task safely and effectively.To maintain discipline and achieve required level of performance in department.Drive and implement maintenance best practices Key Responsibilities: Ensure team is aligned for the planning for the week ahead.Lead and direct the activities of the maintenance team.Supervisory leadership to the mechanical and electrical teams.Perform root cause failure analysis.Ensure that spares are available on time for required maintenance and operational tasks.Ensure jobs cards for routine tasks and breakdowns are issued and returned after completion, review job cards with planner for Adhoc planning and task list creation.Ensuring machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purposeEnsure compliance to SHE rules and regulations and implement it. Ensuring that Artisans in their sections carry out day to day planned maintenance schedules according to acceptable engineering standards Discuss planned and Adhoc work with planner and supervisor and set out maintenance plans (Responsible for all maintenance in assigned section)Responsible for the feedback of any issues found in the plant during morning inspectionsEnsures the manufacturing, repair and replacement for mechanical and electrical equipment within the specified section in the plant is completed and available.Plan and execute shut work for the plant in accordance to the shut plan; and lead by example and execute supervisory functions within relevant section.Planning and Scheduling of all mechanical and electrical activities during normal operations as well as maintenance days and shutdowns.Maintain a clean and orderly work environment ( house keeping)Provide training to artisans and assistantsMotivate workersUndergo developmental / technical trainingApply maintenance best practices as prescribe Inherent Requirements Requirements: Coaching and mentorMaintenance & Equipment Process analysisReliability centered maintenance6 years experience post qualification of which at least 2 years was at a senior level such as a supervisor, specialist or superintendentComputer literacy (Ms office, SAP PM)Qualified artisan (preferably mechanical or Millwright)N6 with national diploma is minimum.B.Sc or B.Eng degree is an advantage. Experience and Skills: Coaching and mentorMaintenance process analysisEquipment process analysisComponents process analysisStrategic overview of asset managementRisk managementSafety health and environmentProblem solving with root cause analysisShredder and scrap experience will be advantageousHigh level of computer literacyMust be reliable and accurate, and have good leadership skills Minimum Qualification Diploma / Mechanical or Millwright
