Overview Shift SupervisorA leading plastic manufacturing company situated in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Shift Supervisor to join their team.The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for: Motivating and leading a team to achieve shift KPIsEnsure a safe and healthy work culture and environmentMonitor machine performanceCollating information and drawing up KPIsCorrecting any deviations from standard operating conditions (machine settings and process cycle times)Reporting deviations from standard conditions to the Manufacturing DirectorPerformance management of the team to achieve KPI targetsManagement of staff including the planning of hours and taking appropriate action relating to absenteeismConduct disciplinary enquiries and grievances in line with agreements and company procedures Key requirements: At least 5 to 7 years of working experience in a plastics environmentDiploma in Production Management/EngineeringInjection Moulding knowledge and working experience (essential)Supervisory skills (essential) – ability to manage a shift comprising up to 55 peopleKnowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 (advantageous)Proven knowledge, understanding and experience of IR practices, including involvement in chairing or prosecuting enquiries (essential)A formal completed course in LR (advantageous)
