Senior Manager: Underwriter (INSURANCE)The core function of this role is to analyse information, establish client’s risk, match risk with the most appropriate product, screen the applicant based on a set of underwriting criteria, evaluate the risk and do recommendations from an underwriting point of view to mitigate losses, determine appropriate premiums and ensure the risk falls within the treaty conditions.IMPORTANT: Successful candidate should be open to relocate to George! Qualifications: Bacherlor’s degree in InsuranceBusiness Administration will be an advantage but not essentialFinancial qualification will be an advantage but not essentialFIISA, ACII, COPKey Individual Exam 1RE successfully completed Skills & Experience: At least 15 years commercial experience8 years in a leadership roleExperience in pricingNetworking, building, and maintaining relationshipsInfluencer, negotiator, and organiserExposure to reinsurance and treaty arrangements Responsibilities Responsible for the underwriting team and problem solvingChampions the development and enhancement of Underwriting Guidelines and policy wordingsRisk ManagementMonthly reporting on team performance as well as quality control underwriting audits.Provide technical support to team.Gather market intelligence and apply it to the company’s benefit.Deliver profitable growth while growing the book of business.
