MinerThis well-established mining client of ours is looking for an ambitious, hardworking Miner to join their talented extraction team in the Northern Cape.The Miner will aid in controlling the ore extraction process to ensure optimal utilisation of people and equipment, to obtain production targets. They will need to have a good understanding of safety, standards, and mining operations and be able to work efficiently and consistently within a mine environment.Role ResponsibilitiesConduct general mining activitiesControl the utilisation of allocated resources and additional resourcesIdentify deviations or non-conformances, plan and implement corrective action to ensure attainment of the product planInstall, maintain, support and remove temporary support in mining excavationsMonitor and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in the workplaceCollecting, handling, transporting and sorting explosivesExamining and assessing workplaces as safe and healthy for workPlanning, controlling, leading and organising repairs and breakdownsTesting, monitoring and controlling gassesSupervising and executing blasting operations, including preparing working face blasting, charging up of faces and sites, conducting blasting, and treating misfiresBehavioural CompetenciesProblem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communicatorAble to excel at work under high-intensity pressures (environmental and workload)Able to give and receive feedback, acute interpersonal skillsExcellent job focus, not easily distractedAcutely aware of safety standards and requirementsExcellent working memoryAble to pick up and retain new skills quicklyAdaptable and professionalEducation and ExperienceGrade 12Blasting certificate (Hardrock Mining)3 years experience in mining after obtaining a blasting certificateValid driver’s licenseDrill Rig and LHD operation experience/certification will be advantageous
