Overview Our client is looking for an experienced, ambitious and talented Senior Production Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful incumbent will provide the necessary leadership as a change agent, delivering an effective and efficient medium longer-term strategy aimed at continuously (and sustainably) improving the drive to enhanced productivity and lower cost, within a safe environment and in line with the business plan.Role Responsibilities Ensure that quality and food safety standards as agreed with the Technical manager, are embedded throughout the department and monitored, managed and achieved using KPIs as effective progress trackersThrough a structured plan contributes toward the site’s attainment of annual budget targets and site KPI Manage and control expenditure within the department to remain within budget constraintsEnsure that the departmental structure is balanced to business requirements and is resourced by the appropriate human capital Develops and maintains fluid and responsive succession and development plans for optimized and sustainable performanceDrives a safe working environment within the department by ensuring that the business meets world-class FMCG standards to achieve the goals of the group SHE policyDevelops internal and external customer relationships, which inspire confidence in the site manufacturing capabilityInfluences and supports other functions within the business to facilitate joint successful deliveryCreates an environment conducive to inclusivity, creating a safe space to solicit alternatives and challenge proposals to the status quoEnsure a timely and effective supply of accurate and effective reporting required to achieve KPIsSet the conduct and interpersonal style and standards to mindfully shape the culture and ethical framework within which the department operatesPlan, organize, guide and direct outputs of reports to achieve the objectives of the businessCross-departmental collaboration to drive successful projects, share knowledge and improve processes.To oversee an efficient, effective department that responds rapidly to everchanging circumstances. Behavioural Competencies Deadline drove within a fast-moving environmentExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills/ team player an effective leader that can maximise human capital to best effect across various applicationsConfidence and fortitude to deal with problems and ultimately identify, implement and monitor sustainable solutionsExcellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills Education and Experience Minimum of a Degree or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field Food Technology, Engineering, Business Studies etcMinimum of 5 years progressive food manufacturing experience with a minimum of 3 years in a substantial, customer-facing management roleProven knowledge and experience with equipment, process and product design and commissioning in line with the requirement to maintain quality, throughput and effectivenessProven capacity to convert requirements to an achievable output and effective communicator of progress to all business stakeholdersSuccessful project delivery through effective reporting team leadership
