Identify, assess and implement cost driven process and product -improvements towards enhanced global competitiveness of company products in the local and international markets Duties Will Include: Consult with relevant personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates, cost savings and improvement activitiesPrepare time-and-motion, cost, material, tooling, packaging, energy and labour- estimates/studiesPrepare estimates for use in selecting suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, or contractorsPresent prepared cost estimates by collating and displaying numerical and descriptive information.Confer with engineers on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesPrepare estimates used by Management for purposes such as planning, organising, and scheduling workPrepare cost estimate statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals or at management requestAssess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services- tracking actual costs relative to quotes/bids as the project developsSet up cost monitoring and reporting systems and proceduresReview material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase componentsCompilation of Action plans for OEM and aftermarket projects, to be used in discussions with Project Coordinator and Communicator at company , and also with relevant customersAssist in planning of manufacturing jobs on new products or components and the overseeing thereof
