Northern Suburbs) Province Gauteng Job Description Job Category: Commercial FinancePrimary purpose of Role: As the Commercial Controller, you will report to the Head of Revenue and Gross Margin of South Africa. Your role will oversee the commercial control function, which is to provide high level financial support, challenge and control over the sales teams. You will have full ownership and accountability in helping to drive the success of the sales process.You will be responsible for building and strengthening the finance capabilities of the sales team. You will contribute to medium and long-term profitable sales growth by proactively and continuously monitoring and optimising rebate cost structures and highlighting business optimisation opportunities and risksMain responsibilities: Cross functional business partner with Finance, Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain/Operational teams to develop & build strong relationships, ensuring that you are closely support their Commercial Finance requirements, including driving growth and profitability.Drive all sales growth initiatives.Pre/post new product launch evaluation, providing root cause analysis and deep insight into performance.Proactively highlight sales performance risks and opportunities across impacted functions.Lead expansion initiatives across all sales channels.Perform key tasks within the Commercial Finance Function ensuring reporting is valid, accurate and timely e.g., G2N reconciliation, analysis of sales returns, sales budget and forecast activities, daily sales activities, etc. Provide management, external audit, internal audit with relevant Commercial Finance information as requested.Liaising with the legal team on commercial related contractual matters.Complete ad-hoc Commercial Finance analysis of management projects and ensure sound financial governance principles support the decisions made.Continuously develop/update tools and systems with the Sales team to ensure appropriate return on investment.Assist Financial Reporting team with financial month end close (Gross Sales and G2N reporting). Description: Analyse top line in both of volume and value.Root cause analysis on Commercial Finance issues, providing valuable insight thereof, and practical recommendations on remediation activities.Support the sales team in developing sound commercial strategies (annually) including the potential impact thereof at an Operating Income (OI) level.Analyse Commercial finance related data for validity, accuracy, and completeness e.g., SG reports, SAP reports, etc.Complete sales budgets and forecasts for management and upward reporting.Preparation and execution of management reporting information e.g., MBR.Management and analysis of external data reports facilitating performance benchmarking against competitor products.Daily sales reportingBe the central point of contact between Super Group and the company on all customer related matters e.g., overdue accounts, customer claims, trading terms, etc.Analyse customer profitability which can be used for, inter-alia, future investment opportunities.Assist Finance Function in ensuring G2N rebate provisions are valid, accurate and complete (bottom up G2N recon).Specific tasks that will be managed are: Managing the GAP closure reporting and tracking.Leading the monthly AR aging meetings, sharing action list of meeting, and following up on completion of tasks.Making sure that the customer master file is updated with any new customer information.Investigating/tracking monthly price list differences.Calculation of monthly forecourts rebates, discretionary spend and growth incentive accruals.Sharing monthly sales tracking information for UMS, IBC, Elite Star and Shoprite with the customers.Liaising with external legal on the status of legal accounts.Making sure that all the FY22 trading terms have been received back and updating the tracker documents.The custodian of all sales related data and sharing various reports with the business as and when required.
