There is an excellent long-term future and quality project delivery system to look forward to by any successful applicant.Roles & Responsibilities Comply with Health and Safety Management Systems and StandardsIdentify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and take preventative actionsEnsure that team members are appropriately trained for rolesAttend morning Meetings with Foreman/Chief Technician to plan the schedule and prioritise tasksInteract cordially with team members and other departments on related activitiesMonitor costs within approved parametersBe involved with Project planning and compile project budgets in collaboration with the project departmentProvide Technical assistance during the executionProvide on-the-job training and coaching to Artisan Learners as well as newly appointed ArtisansMaintain and development of Scada and PLC programs as required for new projects and instruments added to the systemApply the relevant fault-finding techniqueEnsure that all instrumentation units and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completion Behavioural Competencies Able to embrace a challenging environmentCapable of giving and receiving frequent feedbackTeam player, with strong social skills and a professional interpersonal mannerConfident oratorNatural leaderCan thrive in a culture of high performance, accountability and innovationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Numerical and presentation skillsPlanning and organisational skillsBudgeting skills Education and Experience At least 5 years experience as an Instrument TechnicianND IN Electrical Light Current with relevant Industrial Instrumentation subject (or higher qualification, e.g HND / BTech); orRelevant Trade Test as Instrument Mechanician with N4 – N6 or ECSA Registration as Professional Engineering TechnicianFluent in English; second language advantageousMedical Fitness CertificateValid First Aid CertificateValid Driver’s license and own transportPrevious Shaft/Plant related experiencePLC Programming and SCADACompleted Supervisory Development Programme
