Procurement Category SpecialistA leading personal care company situated in Durban is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Procurement Category Specialist to join their team.The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:Lead Procurement projects to tender for goods and/or services in own area of responsibility. This comprises supplier selection based on requirements defined by the corresponding Demand Owners, market analysis, Non-DisclosureAgreements, requests for information/proposal/quotation (RFI/P/Q), commercial negotiation, supplier selection, contract preparation and signing and implementation.Ensure quality, service level and cost of goods and/or services procured are delivered according to agreed contractsExecute related operational steps, e.g. Purchase Order coordinationDrive savings initiativesAnalyze (K)PI performance of own supplier portfolio continuously to identify additional savings or other improvement opportunitiesSupport increasing the spend coverage by ProcurementEnsure Procurement related master data is maintained properlyClarification of invoice payment queries raised by the Accounts Payable TeamSupport increasing the application of the Code of Conduct for SuppliersParticipates in the development of a local Procurement strategyKey requirements:University or similar degree – ideally in Supply Chain Management, Business Science, Industrial Engineering5 years of work experience, ideally in ProcurementFMCG experienceExperience in Process Enhancements is preferredProcurement Marketing and Sales services, Facility management category experienceA good understanding of Supply Chain and Procurement principles and standardsComputer literate, i.e., proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)Working knowledge of SAP (especially the MM module) would be advantageousGood ability to communicate with a wide range of personalitiesAttention to detail, accuracy and ability to prioritizeAlternatively, you are also welcome to contact at or connect with her on Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.Please consider your application unsuccessful if you do not hear from us within 3 days.
