Education and Experience:Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB)Must be an admitted attorney in South AfricaExperience in short-term insurance law would be advantageousContract law.Agreements and contract draftingMinimum 2 years experience in a legal environmentExperience in an Insurance environment is beneficialThe areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following:Legal DraftingLetters of demandCancellation notices and maintaining cancellation registerDrafting service level agreements and addendumsAd hoc legal lettersDrafting acknowledgment of debt and reviewing other legal documentsGeneralMaintenance of department registersProcessing attorneys invoicesCompiling and sending attorneys briefsLiaising with external panel of attorneysLegal researchRendering legal adviceGeneral administration and filingComplaints managementCompliance drafting of policies/frameworksDue diligence reviewsKnowledge:Sound knowledge of MS office packagesAnalytical thinker with detailed research proficienciesAbility to interpret legal documentsPersonal Attributes and Skills:Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent interpersonal relationship skillsHigh standards of personal integrity and honestyWillingness to work overtime if requiredAttention to detail and accuracyProblem solving skillsSelf-motivatedOrganized and detail-orientedWork both individually and as part of a team where appropriateThe ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
