A leader of change, providing leadership and management in operational areas such as: Operational efficiency, continuous improvement, driving performance and optimally satisfying customer orders across the value chain and all Sales Channels of the business. This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-pressure, fast-changing environment, where the individual within this role needs to create structure and provide focus and direction. High volume, fine picking, and customer-centric environment.The role leads and manages a team of Supervisors/Team Leaders; responsible for the efficient execution of warehousing and distribution functions. Your external clients will include inter alia:- packaging suppliers, transport companies, third-party logistics, and many more. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overall management and coordination of all Warehouse & related DC activities (Inbound Receipts, Outbound OTIF, Returns/Credits/Claims, Inventory Management, Quality Assurance, Safety (SHE); Security and General Facility Management).Drive operational efficiency and excellence; including measures for KPI’s for the direct reporting team (Operations & Logistics Manager/Team Leaders/Supervisors).Develops annual operating budgets in support of the company’s financial goals and responsible for P&L management; Complete cost justification and determination of Return on Investment (ROI).Controls cost through process improvement initiatives, productivity of staff in warehouse, proper utilisation of space and protection of stored product. Ensures protection and accuracy of inventory by adhering to all inventory control processes and procedures.Managing budget and controlling expenses – Research and reconcile forecasted financial results with posted General Ledger results as part of the Month end reconciliation; and Supply Chain Operations reporting.Implement operational best practices – supported by detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all of the operational activies within the Warehouse and associated Operational activities.Measures performance, provides feedback, and hold the Team Leaders/Supervisors accountable for their performance and the performance of their respective teams.Ensure that customer’s service expectations are met, including achieving all service levels metrics and quality performance goals.Demonstrate an ability to assess the impact of short-term decisions on the longer term business goals.Prepare various reports and analyses as required (Monthly Operational Report for Supply Chain); including recommendations for improvements in the Operations.Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all teams within the Warehouse and all operational activity.Works closely with internal functions (HR, Finance, Planning, Sales, Purchasing & Customer Services) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.Generate, cultivate and communicate ideas for continual improvement of processes and activities across all areas of the DC operation.Provide staff leadership and direction by fostering a strong culture of teamwork and high staff engagement building a best-in-class safely operating environment and high quality.Ensuring that the Warehouse & DC Operations adheres to company policy and administers practices in fair and equitable manner.Recommending policies and programmes, which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.Ensures appropriate staffing levels by effectively forecasting resources required to meet agreed customer service levels, financial and operational requirements.Communicate and articulate to staff what the vision for the organization is; and to continuously communicate clear strategies to move toward that vision.To focus on customer service excellence in delivering on time, in full and within quality specification as per operational KPIs.To manage the relationship with the transport and labour partners externally to ensure delivery to targeted services and cost SLA’s.To effectively mitigate risks related to people, safety and assets.To focus on competence, capacity and diversity through effective development of people and teams.
