ENVIRONMENT: AS a Mid-Level Software Engineer – Development for a Software Development Company, who provides integration and development services to industry-leading private and listed corporations, you will be involved in delivering projects to clients from information gathering, working with a team in designing solutions, solution configuration, system testing, user training, continuous improvement, and support. Your responsibilities will include writing code and automated tests, creating documentation, mentoring junior developers, and interacting with DevOps environments. You must have a B.Sc, B.Eng or B.Com degree with IT related subjects as majors and also an A or B for Matric Maths.DUTIES:Gather requirements and analyse dependencies Use the required programming languages/IDE/database and other tools to build front-end and back-end applicationsExecute projects in a dynamic, collaborative, and iterative fashion – providing an ongoing tangible benefitProvide superior customer service to internal and external clientsDevelop new concepts, and approaches and apply best-practice patternsUtilise your knowledge and experience to deliver innovative solutions to clientsTypical daily tasks are:Writing code and automated tests for assigned storiesWork with source control (typically git)Troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing issuesExplore new technology, experiment, and share knowledge Pair programming to aid with knowledge sharingSolution design for new solutionsSupport for existing solutionsDeploying solutions to Dev, QA, and Production using DevOps toolsParticipate in update, design, requirements, and feedback sessionsParticipate in team knowledge-sharing and team-building activitiesOwn smaller projectsMentor/coach juniorsManage CI/CD pipelinesREQUIREMENTS:B.Sc, B.Eng or B.Com degree with IT related subjects as majors.From one of the following universities: UCT, Stellenbosch, Wits, Pretoria, Northwest (Potchefstroom campus), Free State, KZN, Nelson Mandela, JohannesburgWith above average results.
